GS 1968 ARTICLE 140 Synod meets with Rev. Drs. J. Faber in executive session. It is decided to refer the matter of the ecclesiastical position of the professors to Committee III (See Art. 163). No further decisions are made at this time.

GS 1968 ARTICLE 139 The roll call indicates that all the delegates are present.

GS 1968 ARTICLE 138 The Chairman requests Synod the singing of Psalm 77:1,2,3, reads Psalm 77, and leads in prayer.

GS 1968 ARTICLE 137 Rev. L. Moes requests Synod to sing Psalm 139:1,2,13, and leads in thanksgiving and supplication.

GS 1968 ARTICLE 136 Synod is informed that the condition of Rev. J. T. VanPopta, appointed Professor for Systematic Theology, is deteriorating. Synod receives this information with sorrow.

GS 1968 ARTICLE 135 The Chairman welcomes the Rev. Drs. J. Faber who has arrived from The Nether­lands to discuss his appointment as professor for Old Testament. Rev. Faber expresses his thanks for the confidence placed in him. A meeting with Rev. J. Faber in executive session is scheduled for tomorrow.
