GS 1968 ARTICLE 42

Regarding the Finances of Synod Edmonton 1965 Committee IV presents:

Materials:

  • a. Report 1,8, of the Financial Committee General Synod 1965; (See Supplement f)
  • b. Letter of the Church at Barrhead, Alta, (V,4) informing Synod that it re­ quested the Church at Chatham, Ont., to which the treasurer of Synod 1965 moved, to audit the books;
  • c. Letter of the Church at Chatham, Ont., (1,14) informing Synod that the books of the treasurer of Synod 1965 were audited and found in good order.

Information:

The receipts of Synod 1965 were $5,659.70; the expenses $4,286.91; the expenses of Deputies appointed by Synod $1,341.04. Cash on hand $31.75.

The committee was informed that of the $713.64 advanced to Deputies for Contact with the Orthodox Presbyterian Church approximately $260.00 is still in the account of the treasurer of Deputies.

Recommendations:

Synod decide:

  • 1. to express its thanks for the extensive and excellent work of the Financial Committee 1965 in general and of the treasurer in particular;
  • 2. to request the treasurer of the Financial Committee to transfer the balance of $31.75 to the Financial Committee of this Synod;
  • 3. to discharge Mr. H. Van Spronsen as treasurer of the Financial Committee of Synod 1965, on the basis of the auditors’ report of the Church at Chatham;
  • 4. to notify Mr. H. Van Spronsen of this decision;
  • 5. to request Deputies for Contact with the Orthodox Presbyterian Church to transfer the balance of their accounts to the Financial Committee of this Synod.
