Re Overture III,1, Committee I presents the following recommendation:
Synod having taken note of the overture of the Church at Chatham, Ont., “to decide that the reports for Synod of which copies are sent to the churches, should be in on or before February l of the year wherein a General Synod is held”, decide that copies of reports which are to be sent to the churches, shall be in nine months before the opening of Synod.
Ground:
The consistories should have the opportunity to study these reports and, if they wish to do so, to overture major assemblies.
