GS 1968 ARTICLE 141
Committee II on a Central Address of the Canadian Reformed Churches presents:
Materials:
- a. Report of Deputies, I,7;
- b. Overture of the Church at Barrhead, Alta, lll,15;
- c. Overture of the Church at Edmonton, Alta, III,21;
- d. Overture of the Church at Smithers, B.C., III,26;
Recommendations:
- 1. Synod decide not to establish a central address.
- Grounds: Neither the necessity nor the desirability for such an address has been conclusively proven. Moreover, a central address tends to promote the concept of a “Church Headquarters”.
- 2. Synod decide to have the addresses of the various deputies (committees) printed with the Acts, and the address of the convening Church for the next General Synod.
