I.
- 1. Synod decides to appoint as members of a committee of Administration (Art. l 20) Messrs. A. J. Hordijk, Burlington, Ont., J. Medemblik, Guelph, Ont., A. H. Oosterhoff, Toronto, Ont., A. L. VanderHout, Hamilton, Ont., M. VanGrootheest, Fergus, Ont.
- 2. The Board of Governors submits the following (Art. 120):
Recommendations:
- a. Synod appoint Mr. C. Lindhout, London, Ont., as treasurer in the place of Mr. H. Leffers, Coaldale, Alta (Art. 117,c).

- b. Synod adopt as name for this committee: “Committee of Administration”.

II. The Board considered the matter of a temporary mandate for the present situation, and of a general mandate.
Recommendation:
Synod approve of the following instructions for the Committee of Administration:
- 1. For the time being a general mandate shall be given to the Committee:
- a. To serve the Board with suggestions and advice on all non-academic matters pertaining to the establishment and the maintenance of the Theological College.
- b. To execute the decisions of the Board of Governors on these matters.
- 2. The Committee of Administration shall:
- a. Choose from their midst a chairman, a clerk, and a bookkeeper.
- b. Advise the Board of Governors re: purchasing an estate suitable for the Theological College on the following conditions:
- 1. Purchase price should be well within the limits of the funds avail able at present.
- 2. The location must be close to a University with appropriate Library facilities.
- 3. The location must be chosen in Southern Ontario, preferably in the city of Guelph.

III. Recommendation:
Synod set the opening date of the Theological College on the second Wednesday in September, ie. September 10th, 1969.

IV. Recommendation:
Synod set as ultimate date of decision for the appointed Staff members Wednesday December 18th, 1968, being three weeks after their appointment.
As to Rev. Drs. J. Faber, Synod set a date after he has met with Synod and the Board of Governors (see Art. 161).

V. Recommendation:
- a. Synod decide on the date when contributions should commence, and accept the proposal of the Board of Governors:
- January 1st, 1969.
- b. The Committee of Administration shall inform the Churches about this decision.

VI. Recommendation:
Synod adopt the following Budget:

This means a contribution of approximately $14.00 per confessing member per year.

VII. Recommendations:
- 1. Synod ask the Governors to inform the Churches which are served by the appointed Staff members about the appointments.
- 2. Synod give the Board of Governors the right to instruct the Committee of Administration to keep a certain amount of money in a reserve fund.

VIII. a.
The Board of Governors informs Synod that the mandate to inform the appointed Staff members concerning disciplines, salary, etc. (Art.120,d) has been fulfilled. The following information has been conveyed to
- Professors: Salary: $7,000.00 per year to be paid monthly. Dwelling will be provided, or $1,500.00 will be allowed. Retirement provisions will be taken care of.
- Lecturers: Salary: $1,200.00 per year to be paid monthly. Travel expenses: 5c per mile.
b. The Board of Governors recommends:
- 1. Synod decide to grant each of the professors and lecturers the privilege of buying books, after consultation with the Librarian, to an amount of $500.00 per year under condition that these books shall remain the property of the College.
