Committee II on Quotum for the Training for the Ministry presents:

• a.       Overture of the Church at Burlington, Ont., III, 25;
• b.       Overture of the Church at Orangeville, Ont., III, 23.

Concluding consideration:

Since the Training for the Ministry is a matter of the Churches in common, it is beyond doubt that Synod Edmonton 1965 did not lord it over the Churches when it decided to set the contribution for the Training for the Ministry at $7.00 per confessing member. Though it is regrettable that Synod Edmonton 1965 did not give a reason for this decision, it is clear from the series of decisions taken that larger contributions by the Churches were necessary (Acts General Synod 1965, Art. 199, sub 4).

Recommendation:

Synod do not grant the requests contained in the overtures of the Churches at Burlington and Orangeville.
