GS 1965 ARTICLE 138: Letter Winnipeg.
Advisory Committee IV announces that it is not proposing that the letter referred to in Article 128point 1be declared inadmissible. There are no proposals in this regard from the assembly itself either, and so the assembly proceeds to deal with it.
On behalf of Advisory Committee IV, the following proposal is presented to the Synod, which is adopted:
- “In view of the fact that, the telegram sent on behalf of the Synod, can be understood to say that Synod gives Rev. de Haan the opportunity to explain on behalf of the brothers and sisters at Winnipeg the points of appeal, if he so wishes, the Synod decides to ask Rev. de Haan if he wishes to avail himself of this opportunity.”
Following this decision, the chairman then asks Rev C. de Haan, who is present in the room, if he would like to take advantage of the opportunity offered to him. Rev. de Haan answers this question in the affirmative.
